Hello Fall

Hello everyone! It's been so long since I write something. There is a reason for that though. I've been busy with life as most of us are and I didn't really make the time to write about anything that would interest readers. That is actually what made me realize what I'm about to talk about.

When I first started this blog I wanted to be like most of the lifestyle bloggers out there and talk about fashion, things I love, food I eat, etc. you have all seen it out there right? Then I realized how it was not me and how it was somewhat forced and unoriginal. Why did I want to be like the thousands of bloggers out there? Most of those bloggers are sponsored by designers and makeup brands. Who in the world is going to sponsor me? And was I trying to get famous by having a blog? Absolutely not, that was never my intention. What I realized was that instead of being like all the bloggers who write about what they wear, what they eat, and where they go why not be real and true to myself. I don't live a lavish life, drive a nice car, wear designer clothes, nor do I travel all over the country or world. Another thing that I noticed was how this was affecting young woman and teenagers. These bloggers that are sponsored are always sporting the latest trends, have photographers take their pictures, and makeup artist do their makeup. So when a young girl sees that how is that inspiring in a healthy way? From what I have seen it makes them want more, not be satisfied or happy with who they are and want to be like that blogger. It is robbing these young women and girls from originality. I have three young daughters and I see how they get inspired by what they see in the media. It breaks my heart to see that. I can go on about how I feel about that, but I'm not trying to bash on those bloggers. The main reason I decided to write this was to explain why I started this blog about a year ago and how I have grown and changed in the past year and why I now decided that this blog would just be simply about my life, hence the name Ma Simple Vie (My Simple Life).

From now on I want to be real and honest about my life in hopes that I can connect with others out there. My life is no where near perfect and I want to begin to share this journey with you. So many things have happened that I want to share with all of you but it will have to wait for another day because I'm about to set up to give my boyfriend a facial!

Stripes Stripes Stripes

Hi everyone! I apologize for not posting anything in such a long time! One of my biggest weaknesses is procrastination. Hope you all have been having a wonderful spring enjoying this crazy weather. Yesterday was one of the warmer days this month. That definitely called for a walk outside, especially after being cooped up inside an office all day. I went for a walk with my fabulous friend/coworker Ilse Perez, blogger from http://www.theluxuryrehab.com/

This outfit was inspired by one of my favorite fashion bloggers at http://www.daily-craving.com/
It's effortless and chic, my favorite thing about it is that it was very affordable. I got this Merona brand skirt from a local Goodwill store for less than $4
The shirt I got at Old Navy on Sunday during a Memorial day sale for $6
The shoes I am wearing are my favorite shoes right now. I wear them with everything from skirt, dresses, and jeans! Got these last summer from Forever 21 for under $30
Looking chic doesn't have to be expensive. If you have a few basic items in your closet you can never go wrong.

Spring Fling

Happy first day of Spring! Here are some of my favorites pieces to add to your spring wardrobe. Wide leg jeans and flares are the jeans to wear this season, so move over skinnies! I'm also loving the loose flowy tops, boho chic. My favorite type of shoe to wear with wide legs and flares are a chunky heeled sandal or a wedge. What are your favorite things to wear during spring?

A Little Bit About Myself

Hi! My name is Jessica. Thanks for checking out my blog. I am a mother, a wanna be blogger, coffee addict, and lover of fashion from Turlock, CA. Also I looove Paris! Since I was five years old I have wanted to put together my own outfits. My love for fashion has never ended.

I am blessed with four beautiful children. Zoe Abrielle 12, Isaac "Elijah"10, Ava Giselle 8, and Amelie (after the French film) Bella 6.

I am the second of five children. My brother Jesse is the oldest, then its me, my sister Jacqueline, Joshua, and last my baby brother Joseph. Yes our parents liked the letter "J"!

My sister is my best friend, but unfortunately she lives thousands of miles away in England!
We talk every single day, thanks to technology. I was very blessed to visit her in 2011 and can't wait to visit her again soon!

I started Ma Simple Vie as a creative outlet and a way to share with people the things that I love. My inspiration comes from all over the place. I don't really have a signature style. I love anything from Audrey Hepburn to Giovanna Battaglia. I love anything chic, classy, and simple, but sometimes I love something modern and ecclectic.

Hope that all of you enjoy my blog and bare with me, because I am still trying to figure this blogging stuff!

 Graffiti

Couldn't resist the beautiful weather today, so I decided to go for a walk on my lunch break. I always drive by this graffiti in the alley behind our office, on my way to work . I love the colors in this art! Kept my outfit simple and classic today with a grey button down shirt and navy pencil skirt. Hope all of you enjoyed the beautiful weather today as much as I did! A Classic Wardrobe

Hello there! Sorry it took me so long to finally post something. Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! With that said, I would like to share with you how to start the year off right by building the perfect wardrobe. Here are most of the items that you will need to get started!
A Classic Wardrobe
  • trench coat
  • skinny jeans
  • black pencil skirt
  • black dress
  • grey/white tee
  • cardigan
  • black and white striped tee shirt
  • stylish flats
  • classic pumps
  • tall black or brown boots
  • ankle booties
  • chambray shirt
  • blazer
  • patterned top
  • black skinny pants or leggings
  • white button up shirt
  • wrap dress
All these pieces are basic, timeless and effortless. They are also most importantly very versatile! With just these pieces you can create many outfits. It's all about mixing and matching. You practically can't go wrong mixing up any of these pieces together. No matter what you put together, it will always look effortless and chic, think Audrey Hepburn.
To add your own personal touch add accessories. Try some fabulous earrings, a bracelet, a fun colorful handbag, or a scarf. Have fun with a bright lipstick or nail polish! Also adding one trendy item to these looks will always keep you looking chic.
Here are some links to help you get started:

I  have this coat I absolutely love it! I can wear it to the office and also dress it down on the weekend with jeans and ankle boots!
I bought this dress at Old Navy after Christmas and paid only 97 cents for it! Yes you read that right! I scored big time!
